Hebel has unique fire resistance properties.As it is composed of closed cells containing air, the passage of heat through the material is greatly impeded. Hebel is non-flammable and constitutes a flame arrester.Under Belgian standards, it is listed in the most fire resistant material class. In short,when you opt for Hebel, you are designing and building a fireproof building.

During the design of a building,it is desirable to compartmentalise it, with each compartment preventing the fire from propagating to the neighbouring compartments for a determined period of time.This compartmentalisation aims to limit the fire, guarantee the safety of all of the building's occupants and finally, limit damage (working equipment,goods,stocks,etc..)

Building with Hebel guarantees optimum protection against fire, as long as the installation specifications are complied with. An effective fire stop wall must be constructed so that the fire cannot get round it, along adjacent facades or over the roof.

Insurance companies accept Hebel and reduce their rates because of its excellent fire resistance. Hebel is the ideal construction system to protect against fire.

The fire resistance of the external walls is also very important given that, firstly, it has been noted that numerous fires start outside the building; the external wall - which is fire resistant-then protects the building.Secondly, when a building is extended, the external walls become internal walls and,most probably,compartment separating walls, and therefore,fire stop walls. When choosing the construction method, it is prudent to take account of the future fire resistance requirements of the temporary external wall.
